Dear Ridgefield Raiders Parents,
It is hard to believe that in three short months the Ridgefield Raiders Football and Cheerleading season begins! For the Fall 2010 Season, we have joined the Fairfield County Football League (FCFL) which includes teams from the towns of Darien, Fairfield, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport and Wilton. As we transition into the FCFL you will see many enhancements to our procedures. Practice will begin Monday, August 16 with a 5 day a week practice schedule until the start of school, and then a 3 day per week practice schedule with games on Saturday or Sunday.
In this registration packet you will find information and forms that need to be filled out and returned before your child can participate as a football player or cheerleader. ONLINE REGISTRATION and PAYMENTat www.ridgefieldyouthfootball.org is strongly encouraged to cut down on the paper forms and to consolidate all of the information into our online database. The following is a brief description of the forms and requirements for 2010:

2. Doctor Certification (Medical Form)/ Emergency Contact Form
(HOLD—DO NOT MAIL! You will hand in this form at Equipment Pickup):
This form will be in the possession of the Coach at all games and practices. It will be used in the event that a parent / legal guardian is not present during an emergency. VERY IMPORANT: if your child’s physical is not scheduled until after August 16 of this year, the physician can still sign this form! In fact, you may wish to drop the form at the physicians office to have it signed ASAP so as not to delay completion of your child’s registration and to avoid the summer camp form rush. Your child WILL NOTparticipate in Football OR Cheer until this form and all others are completed correctly and turned in by the dates indicated.
3.Form Return and Payment Information:
Payment may be made via credit card on the RYF web site (www.ridgefieldyouthfootball.com) at the end of your online registration, or by check. The basic fee is $225.00 for football & $150.00 for cheerleading for the first child. There is a $25 discount for each additional child participating in either activity. For late registrations received after August 2, the registration fee is $300.00 for football and $225.00 for cheerleading.

4. Uniform & Equipment Refundable Deposits- TO BE SUBMITTED AT EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION AS FOLLOWS:
Tackle: $300.00 Cheerleading: $200.00
Equipment Deposit Checks should be made payable to RYF and dated 12/1/2010. The checks are held as a security deposit for football/cheerleading uniform and equipment. Your check will be returned to you when the uniform/equipment is turned in at the end of the season.
5. Refund Request (The refund request form can be found in the Documents section of the website):
If your child should leave the program, written notification is required. The amount of refund is:

Postmarked on or before August 16th – 100%

Postmarked from August 16th to August 29th – Refund less $50
-
Postmarked after August 29th – no refund.
IMPORTANT FOR 2010
· ONLINE REGISTRATION IS ENCOURAGED AND INCLUDES ALL FORMS EXCEPT THE MEDICAL FORM.
· PAPER SUBMITTED REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED ONLY IN THEIR ENTIRETY:Registration Form, RYF Guidelines, RYF Parental Consent Form, as well FCFL Participants Code of Conduct and FCFL Parents Code of Conduct Forms must be mailed to the address below and must be completed prior to equipment distribution.
· RYF Medical/Emergency Form must be hand delivered the day of equipment distribution along with Equipment Deposit Check.
· Players will be issued equipment and allowed to participate ONLY when all forms have been submitted (no exceptions).
Your child cannot begin practice if there is any outstanding paperwork or payment due.
